Sorry to hear you're having trouble! The meters do have a polarity. Just to make sure, are the instructions you are following at http://shop.wickeddevice.com/angular-clock/? There are photographic build instructions there that show the correct way to wire up the meters to the circuit board. The photos have a color-coded cable, and though we don't ship with a color coded cable, the wiring should correspond to the photos. This is a good one, for instance.
If you are convinced that the it's wired correctly, but the meters don't move in response to the knob, please contact us through support at wickeddevice dot com, and we'll exchange your circuit board for a replacement.
