@breandanmcewen9 thanks for the follow up as well. I'm going to put this on my To-Do list, I just need to find the time and piece together a demo. If I learn more and/or get a demo running, I'll certainly post back here too.

I think there is a hint in here somewhere that your USB is dropping out. Ultimately you don't want the power for the motors coming from your USB port. What you want is a battery source to deliver the power for your RC receiver and servo motors, and possibly your Arduino. But I typically like to power my Arduino separately from my higher power stuff.

So my preferred power situation when RC and motors are involved is 12V into the motor shield power input terminal blocks, EXT jumper removed, BEC jumper installed, and power the Arduino in whatever way appeals to you (barrel jack or USB). With the EXT jumper removed, and as long as the shield pins are plugged into the Uno correctly (e.g. not off by one pin or something) there should really be no way for significant current draw to be pulled from the USB port, as from a power standpoint the only power paths that are electrically connected are the grounds (i.e. USB ground == Battery Ground).

At any rate, I'll keep you posted when I get a chance to try this for myself. And, by the way, thanks for the kind words, I do try my best and am very appreciative for your understanding and good attitude :-).
